FCC finds thousands of hotels do not offer direct-dial options for 911

After a 9-year-old girl was unable to call 911 for help while her mother was stabbed to death at a motel in Texas, a national survey was conducted to find out how many hotels restrict direct-dial access to 911. The survey found that tens of thousands of hotel guests are not able to dial any emergency services directly.
