Facebook drives most of today's online retail traffic
In a poll of its clients, Shopify, a company that offers e-commerce platforms and services, found that Facebook was responsible for nearly two-thirds of visits to its sites. Shopify’s data also revealed Facebook drove roughly 85 percent of orders originating from social media sites, an increase of 129 percent from the year before. While responsible for the largest portion of traffic to online retailers, Facebook did not generate the largest order values.
