The Pauline Marois era is over

Asked what she wanted for her 65th birthday on March 29, Pauline Marois said: "I think you can guess — I hope it will come on April 7." But the majority government the Parti Québécois leader hoped would be her crowning achievement was not to be. Thirty-three years after she won her first seat in the National Assembly — a period during which she held several key cabinet portfolios, including finance, health, education, revenue, labour and the status of women — the Marois era was over.
