CCAD students design prototype live-work studio for Airstream

from Columbus Business First

On the outside, the 23-foot trailer looks like a typical Airstream. But the inside is a mobile live-work studio designed and built by Columbus College of Art & Design students whose mission was to redesign an iconic brand to appeal to Millennials. The students approached the company offering to “reimagine how your product could be used or viewed by a younger, hipper demographic,” says CCAD President Denny Griffith. Airstream CEO Bob Wheeler was hip enough to agree. “This brand has survived for 83 years only by reinventing itself for each generation,” Wheeler says. “If this is going to be relevant for future workers, it needed to be something designed by them that would appeal to them.” more
