Industry jobs blamed for school bus driver shortage in Texas
The region's economic resurgence is making it harder for school districts to keep bus drivers, part of a shortage playing out statewide. Expansion of chemical plants and refineries has fueled a spike in the number of better, high-paying job opportunities for drivers, said Matt Burnett, Port Neches-Groves ISD coordinator of student services in Texas.
