House passes bill to change Obamacare's workweek from 30 hours to 40
from The Washington Times
On April 3, 2014, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2575, Save American Workers Act. The bill addresses the definition of full-time employee in the Affordable Care Act. It address the ACA's definition of a full-time employee as working 30 hours per week. The bill would all change that to define a full-time employee as working 40 hours per week. This definition is important as it delineates, among other criteria, the threshold at which an employer must offer health care coverage to employees.
