Ottawa uses Quebec model to lift aerospace industry
from The Montreal Gazette
Ottawa will fund a Canada-wide aerospace industry research group modelled after Quebec's own. The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada will extend to the breadth of Canada what the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec has been doing since 2000, the latter's outgoing president, Clément Fortin, said in an interview. CARIC's annual budget will be $3.75 million a year initially, funded by industry and government, although Fortin could not be more precise about how it would be split.
