Harper's tough choice on new fighter jet for Canada
from Toronto Star
An 800-pound gorilla has moved into the Prime Minister's Office in the form of an "options analysis" of possible replacements for Canada's aging CF-18 fighter jets. Delivered by the Royal Canadian Air Force, the document was supposed to help Stephen Harper achieve his long-standing goal of buying F-35s. Harper has wanted F-35s since at least 2008, when his Canada First Defence Strategy expressed an intention to acquire "next-generation" fighter jets.
