More Americans Getting Degrees, But U.S. Still Getting Schooled
from U.S. News & World Report
More Americans are earning college degrees, but it's not time to celebrate just yet, according to a new report. The Lumina Foundation's fifth annual report evaluating higher education in America found that two- and four-year degree attainment grew by 0.7 percent between 2011 and 2012 — the largest single-year increase since 2008. Today, 39.4 percent of adults between 25 and 64 hold college degrees. Among younger adults between 25 and 34, degree attainment is even more widespread, at 40.9 percent.
