Parents trying to raise their kids to be altruistic may already have a helping hand from Mother Nature, says a Harvard University psychologist. Contrary to conventional belief that young children are innately selfish and have to be taught how to share, give or help, Dr. Felix Warneken says research shows kids as young as 18 months old display altruistic behaviour, without prompting or reward.
