E. coli illnesses spark ground beef recall
from Progressive Grocer
Just days before Memorial Day weekend which traditionally marks the kickoff of summer grilling season Detroit-based Wolverine Packing Co. is recalling approximately 1.8 pounds of ground beef products that may be contained with E. coli O157:H7. Although the products were originally reported to have been shipped to restaurant distributors in a handful of states, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Services recently said upon further investigation that it now believes they were sent to distribution centers nationwide.
