Aviation data cloud on the horizon
from Air Traffic Management
The prospect of an aviation cloud for real-time monitoring of flight data gained traction at a two-day summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organized by the U.N. agency in charge of global telecommunications in the wake of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. Calls issued earlier this year at the International Telecommunication Union's conference on global telecoms development for real-time tracking of commercial aircraft prompted industry leaders and experts to convene to explore how technology could provide such solutions.
