Bill would bring outsourced jobs back to NY
from Troy Record
After some time overseas, jobs may soon be coming back to New York state if Congress says yes to some tax changes. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., spoke out against outsourcing local jobs and shared his plans on how to end the trend. His plans include the Bring Jobs Home Act, a bill that was up for a vote in the U.S. Senate on Monday. The bill, which Schumer is co-sponsoring, would give 20 percent tax credit to businesses that bring outsourced jobs back to the United States. The changes would incentivize companies to bring outsourced jobs back to New York while making it less attractive for companies to continue to ship jobs overseas by ending currently provided tax perks.
