Grade 12 student devises alarm to save kids left in cars
from CBC News
Every year, dozens of small children are forgotten in cars. Sometimes a parent remembers and rushes back to the car - but sometimes they don't get there in time to prevent the child suffering harm. Seventeen-year-old Alissa Chavez has designed a car-seat alarm system to alert parents when they've left a child in the car. The system sounds an alarm on the car, on a key fob and on an app when the parent is 10 metres away from the car but there is still a child inside.
