First year of the Alliance makes a difference in Bangladesh, more work is needed
from National retail Federation
This week the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety released its first annual report. This is an important milestone in the ongoing work to improve worker safety in the ready-made garment industry in Bangladesh. In its first year the Alliance achieved many of its key objectives, including the development and implementation of the country's first harmonized Fire Safety and Structural Integrity Standard; the inspection of all 587 factories from which Alliance members source; and fire safety training for more than 1 million workers and managers employed in these factories.
