The phrase is "mid-century modern architecture," and it has the potential to change the way London looks at its heritage buildings. Thanks to the work of volunteers in the community, the city could soon enter a new era of protecting its most important structures. Put simply, properties don't need to be old before they can be picked out as heritage buildings, worthy of extra protection. Many of the newer ones on a list being drawn up by volunteers were built in the 1960s or 70s.
