IATA: Passenger Traffic Growth Stays Strong in June — Slight Slowing from May
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for June showing a modest deceleration in demand growth compared to the prior month. Total revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) rose 4.7 percent over the year-ago period, which was below the 6.2 percent year-on-year increase recorded in May 2014. June capacity (available seat kilometers or ASKs) increased by 5.0 percent, causing load factor to slip 0.2 percentage points to 81.5 percent.
