CDC releases guidance document with Detailed Hospital Checklist for Ebola Preparedness

from IAEM

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is working with other U.S. government agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO), and other domestic and international partners in an international response to the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa. A guidance document released earlier this week includes a Detailed Hospital Checklist for Ebola Preparedness developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and CDC to encourage U.S. hospitals to prepare for managing patients with Ebola and other infectious diseases. In addition, the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) released an updated version of its Interim Laboratory Guidelines for Handling/Testing Specimens from Cases or Suspected Cases of Hemorrhagic Fever Virus (HFV) after consulting with CDC subject matter experts.
