University of Florida Fire & Emergency Services planning trip to China offering credit hours toward master's degree

from IAEM

The University of Florida Fire & Emergency Services program is planning to coordinate an October 2015 trip to China that will include a symposium in Beijing, and stops in Shanghai and at Three Gorges Dam. The trip is part of a study/travel program designed for U.S. professionals to meet their international counterparts and exchange best practices, technologies and research. The trip offers the opportunity to earn three credit hours towards your master's degree in FES. The three-credit hour will count toward the FES 6735 International Emergency Disaster Response class or the FES 6826 Emergency Services Disaster Response class. The cost of the program will be based on number of participants plus course tuition ($1,950 current rate). The course work will happen during the trip, with the students presenting in China and then completing a report upon arrival back in the United States. You may also participate if you do not want the course credits. If you are interested, please send your contact information by Oct. 31, 2014, to Jeffrey T. Lindsey, Ph.D., Coordinator/Lecturer, FES Programs, at jeffrey.lindsey@ufl.edu, so a list of those interested can be compiled. There is no commitment at this time. more
