Hurricane Odile: Power outages still widespread in Los Cabos; 5 dead
from The Weather Channel
Nine days after Hurricane Odile slammed Mexico's Baja peninsula, the tourists may be gone, but the aftermath of the devastating storm remains. Only 19 percent of customers in Los Cabos, one of the areas Odile hit hardest, have seen their power restored. Nearly 27,000 people — mostly tourists — were airlifted out of the area on more than 200 special flights over the past week, but the heavily damaged Los Cabos International Airport will be closed until Oct. 8, the Tourism Department said.
