 Bioenergy Day recognizes importance of biomass

from Domestic Fuel

Oct. 22, was the second annual National Bioenergy Day, and more than 40 facilities and organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada opened their doors to show folks the benefits of using woody biomass for heating and electrical power production. U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has continued to support bioenergy’s role in protecting the health of forests on federal lands, saying, "Renewable wood energy is part of the Obama Administration’s ‘all of the above’ energy strategy." more
