Lack of crossing help from school buses creates concern
The owner of a southwest Portland daycare says school bus drivers who drop off her young clients won't help them cross the street, leaving her and the kids to cross busy Taylors Ferry Road on their own. Amy Pluedeman runs a small daycare out of her home and picks up her young clients at the Tigard-Tualatin District bus stop nearby. Pluedeman said this year the buses stopped helping the group cross the street. Instead of remaining at a stop with the "Stop" sign extended, the buses simply closed the doors and drove off.
