Pratt & Whitney Canada to spend $1billion to develop next-generation aircraft engines

Pratt & Whitney Canada is planning to spend more than $1 billion Canadian in R&D to develop the next-generation of aircraft engines over the next four-and-half years. The spending includes repayable contribution of C$300m from the government of Canada under the strategic aerospace and defence initiative programme. The investment will support around 1,500 existing jobs at Pratt & Whitney facilities in Ontario and Quebec.
