from Daily Press
Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Dec. 11 that seven Virginia Community Colleges will be able to receive a total of $500,000 to help students get credentialed. In particular, Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton will receive money for students who receive an American Welding Society certification. The Federal Workforce Investment Act funding will go toward noncredit, intensive training with industry support, according to a news release. The money will only be paid to students who complete credentials that are identified as regionally high-demand sectors.
