Federal provider legislation introduced
On Jan. 28, the federal provider status legislation was reintroduced in the House of Representatives. The bill — introduced by Reps. Brett Guthrie, R-Kentucky; G.K. Butterfield, D-North Carolina; Todd Young, R-Indiana; and Ron Kind, D-Wisconsin — is called the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act H.R. 592. Similar to 2014's, H.R. 4190, the provisions will provide access to pharmacist provided patient care services to patients in medically underserved communities.
