It's official: Feds close ACA minimum value 'loophole'

Officially closing what had been called a "surprising loophole" in Affordable Care Act compliance, the Obama administration blocked health plans without hospital benefits that many large employers of low-wage workers had maintained fulfills their obligations under Obamacare. Kaiser Health News reports nearly half of the 1,600 employer members of the American Staffing Association had either committed to offer, or were considering offering, such "minimum value" plans before federal regulators stated they would move against them. Ed Lenz, Senior Counsel for the ASA, said some staffing firms did adopt such coverage, but "most did not." more
