NARFE advocates on the Hill today
NARFE legislative activists attending the Association's Legislative Training Conference visited congressional offices on Capitol Hill today to advocate for the federal community. The "Day on the Hill" concluded the four-day conference held in Arlington, Virginia. Nearly half of the 250 attendees were first-time participants at the conference. Attendees heard from members of Congress, attended breakout sessions on grass-roots advocacy and policy issues, and learned more about NARFE's legislative agenda for the 114th Congress. "NARFE members are the very best advocates in defense of the earned pay and benefits of federal employees and retirees," said Legislative Director Jessica Klement. "They will be returning to their home chapters with enhanced skills and, hopefully, a new enthusiasm for representing NARFE in building relationships with their legislators."
