Parents and kids with diabetes are unafraid of competitive sports, as they may have been 20 years ago, said Larry Cooper, a licensed athletic trainer for Penn Trafford High School (Harrison City, Pennsylvania), and chair of the secondary school committee of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
