Hospitals, state healthcare panel look for solutions to charity care costs
from The Tampa Tribune
The presidents of two of the region’s largest hospitals on Wednesday called on members of a healthcare and hospital panel formed by Gov. Rick Scott to work with lawmakers and create an alternative to the sunsetting federal program that supported charity care. “We have to find an alternative, and we have to work together to find an alternative,” Jim Burkhart, president and chief executive at Tampa General Hospital, told members of Scott’s Commission on Health Care and Hospital Funding.
