It was a bold move for CVS Health to phase out tobacco products at its 7,800 stores — and it came at a price: about $2 billion in lost annual revenue. Company leaders said that selling cigarettes was incompatible with CVS' goal of becoming a bigger player in the growing health care industry. And to be sure, losing $2 billion won't be a death blow to the $120 billion company, the country's biggest provider of prescription drugs, Bloomberg Businessweek reported.
