from Denton Record-Chronicle
The Denton County Sheriff's Office recently received more than $300,000 stemming from drug trafficking enterprises, officials said. Sandi Brackeen, spokeswoman for the office, said Sheriff Will Travis and Chief Deputy Rex George accepted a forfeiture check in the amount of $312,572.68 from the Drug Enforcement Administration on Tuesday. The money was obtained following an aggressive investigation of criminal organizations distributing controlled substances in North Texas and throughout the United States, according to a news release sent Wednesday morning by Brackeen.
