Tips for high school freshmen
from The San Diego Union-Tribune
Freshmen should work with their counselor to map out a four-year plan, based on their strengths and weaknesses. The classes they took in middle school help determine what the best set of courses are for their freshman year and that maps out their plan for four years of high school. Counselors help students be college- and career-ready. What that means is students will complete all the A to G requirements for California State and University of California schools, and that the grades are C or better. Also, students will benefit from getting involved in school activities. There's a strong connection between involvement and academic success.
