Ontario airport plan addresses noise complaints, but some neighbours don't like it
from Peterborough Examiner
There's a plan taking shape to alleviate noise concerns in the area around the Peterborough Airport in Ontario. But a meeting held recently to gather public input on the idea was met with disapproval by many of the airport's neighbours, who are fed up with ongoing noise. The expanded airport, which added the Seneca College flight school to its 19 on-site aeronatic businesses, has 65,000 "air traffic movements," or flights, per year. That can mean a flight taking off or landing every 30 to 90 seconds, and the accompanying noise.
