Research into Robo-Picker Advances in Washington State
While a humanoid robot in overalls and a straw hat is never likely to be in the Yakima Valley picking fruit, Washington State University researchers are making headway in the development of robotic devices to pick apples. With the state producing about 18 billion apples every year and labor shortages an increasing problem, robotic harvesting machines are not just a professor's flight of fancy.
