Gender is a good starting place for solving the Valley's diversity problem, Pinterest engineer says

At a diversity panel at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, Pinterest engineer Tracy Chou said she thinks the easiest place to start with making Silicon Valley companies more diverse is women. Chou, a Pinterest software engineer, has been outspoken about the Valley’s lack of diversity. In a blog post entitled "Where are the Numbers?," she had called on tech companies to release their demographic data and Google Inc., Facebook Inc., and others have since done so.
