Californians meet water target — again — with 27 per cent cut
from SF Gate
Drought-conscious Californians surpassed Gov. Jerry Brown's conservation goal yet again, cutting their water use 27 per cent compared to the same period in 2013, according to state data released recently. The Bay Area remained near the front of the pack, with some water agencies such as the Dublin San Ramon Services District, Contra Costa Water District and the city of Menlo Park cutting back more than 40 per cent over 2013, the state's baseline year for measuring water savings. The region, as a whole, logged a 30.5 per cent reduction in water use.
