Still a large racial imbalance in school discipline

Outgoing U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan told the White House conference called "Rethink Discipline" in July that "you also can't talk about school discipline without talking about race." He and other speakers said studies have shown that nationwide, even for the same offenses, boys who are black are much more likely to be suspended or expelled than girls or white students.
