TKA likely safe, useful in patients with a history of solid organ transplant
Although patients with a history of solid organ transplant who underwent total knee arthroplasty experienced increased — with relatively modest clinically significant — length of stays, costs and complications, investigators of this study noted the safety and efficacy of arthroplasty for these patients. Researchers identified 6,104 patients with a history of solid organ transplant who underwent primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and compared them with 5,864,317 non-transplant total knee arthroplasty patients.
