US loses 12,300 temp jobs in November

The U.S. lost a record 12,300 temp jobs in November, according to seasonally adjusted data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, data in this report is frequently revised in later reports. October’s gain in temp jobs was revised upward to 28,100 from 24,500, the biggest month-over-month gain in a year. The number of temp jobs rose 2.6 percent on a year-over-year basis in November, down from 4.2 percent in October and 3.5 percent in September. The temp penetration rate — temp jobs as a percent of total nonfarm jobs — slipped to 2.04 percent in November compared to 2.05 percent in October.
