Daycare workers decry proposed government cuts
from Montreal Gazette
Some daycare operators say they will have to change menus, reduce staff hours and buy fewer toys if Quebec proceeds with a plan to cut $120 million from the budgets of the province's publicly funded daycares. "Some daycares that served meat or chicken three or four times a week are only serving it once," said Gina Gasparrini, the president of the Association Québécoise des Centres de la Petite Enfance (AQCPE), which represents 600 publicly funded daycares across the province.
