Lack of child care newest barrier for refugees headed to Edmonton

Hundreds of Syrian refugees in Edmonton are waiting for child care before they can begin learning English, a situation that's seeing one organization going to "extraordinary" measures to combat. "There's an unusually large need, as many of the learners have young families. They can't be in class without a child-care provider," said Erick Ambtman, executive director at the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN).
