Smelly project nears completion
from Niagara Falls Review
A sewer project in Chippawa, which has frustrated some residents who have dealt with a foul odour occasionally coming from the site, is nearing completion. Niagara Region has now finished the deep well dewatering operations as part of a new combined sewer overflow tank being built at the pumping station on Chippawa Parkway. Residents in the Chippawa area should be noticing a substantial decrease in the smell, according to regional officials. The dewatering operations, which required deep excavations, were needed to allow for the installation of the tank.
