2016-2017 Illinois DREAM Fund Scholarship program
The 2016-2017 Illinois DREAM Fund Scholarship program is open to Illinois' undocumented immigrant high school seniors and first-time college undergraduate students. The application's deadline is Friday, April 22 at 11:59 p.m.
This year's essay question:
"Please share with us your story as a undocumented immigrant - struggles, obstacles, triumphs or any other special circumstances that have influenced you to continue your life aspirations here in the United States. What are your future plans and how will being a recipient of the Illinois Dream Fund allow you to accomplish your goals? Maximum 1,000 words."
In order to qualify for the Illinois Dream Fund Scholarship 2016, all applicants must:
Be eligible under the Illinois Dream Act; The Illinois Dream Fund scholarship is only open to undocumented students who are ineligible for federal financial aid.
Grade point average (GPA): 2.5/4.0
Attended an accredited community college or four year institution in or outside of Illinois. Scholarship funds will not be awarded to for profit (proprietary) institutions. The scholarship is not currently open to Graduate students, or those seeking a second undergraduate degree.
Submit one letter of recommendation which cannot be from a relative or family member.
