Artificial intelligence a job killer? Not here

For all the jobs artificial intelligence is supposed to threaten, at least 60 jobs have been created by New York City-based x.ai, an artificial intelligence startup that has managed to garner national attention, even before its public launch. With $11.3 million in venture capital, and plans to finally emerge from beta into full public use later this year, the company, which lets A.I.-powered personal assistants named Amy and Andrew schedule events on users’ behalf, has just made its most recent hire: yet another data scientist.
