Exhibition showcases work of military veterans at Art Students League of New York
from University of Buffalo Reporter
With benefits from the G.I. Bill, many veterans returning from active duty in World War II received tuition credit and a monthly stipend for living expenses, making it possible for them to attend The Art Students League of New York to learn and experiment with their artistic practices. The artistic impact of these veterans on the league and the development of post-World War II American art is the focus of "On the Front Lines: Military Veterans at The Art Students League of New York," an exhibition opening April 2 in the UB Anderson Gallery.
