The genius of genius hours
from By Brian Stack
More than a decade ago, Google introduced the 80/20 concept — known as the Pareto principle — to its company. Google encouraged engineers to take 20 percent of their time to work on ideas that interested them personally. The logic was simple: Productivity would improve when employees engaged in something they were passionate about. Google's experiment with the Pareto principle has now found its way into classrooms, where it goes by the name "genius hour."
