Refinery executive says new technology allows it to exist with pristine air of national park
from Prairie Business
A proposed $850 million gasoline refinery near Fryburg in far western North Dakota would be among the closest industrial complexes to a national park anywhere in the country. That proximity to Theodore Roosevelt National Park at Medora — less than 3 miles as the crow flies — is guaranteed to make the acquisition of an air quality permit a difficult process, says Craig Thorstenson, environmental engineer with the North Dakota Health Department's air quality division.
