Hospitals, blood banks take precautions to prevent spread of Zika

The microscopic virus that is spread through mosquitoes and results in horribly deformed newborn babies appears to be at Florida’s gate and health officials are closely watching developments and gearing up for the onslaught. Though no cases of the Zika virus have originated in the Sunshine State, 82 have been confirmed from people who contracted it in other countries.
