Real Time Claim Status Updates are Imperative

One of the best services that I can provide is to pass along what I hear "from the trenches" — that is, from those who use the collection services of attorneys and collection agencies.

Technology is changing so quickly that it is often difficult to keep up with the latest and greatest; but knowing what you need for your operation and what your clients want is important. Although I can say with certainty that these days virtually every law office and collection agency is using email for general correspondence and reporting, I can also say that there are still many not fully utilizing the internet as an important tool to support their operations and their clients.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful convenience for your clients to be able to just log into a client only portion of your collection system to see what the status updates of their claims are? If you haven't considered this technological improvement, the benefits are enormous:
  • You are no longer being interrupted by requests to give a status update and can instead concentrate on working the claims.
  • The client does not have to wait for you to make the time to give a status up date, whether by email, fax, or post.
  • The transparency of showing you are regularly working a claim and updating it accordingly can give your clients comfort and peace of mind.
  • Having this functionality is a huge selling point to new clients and will separate you from the competition.
Technology can greatly improve the efficiency of your operation and the service which you provide to your customers. Many technology products will also save you money in the long run. Take the time to invest in researching what is out there. Look over those emails and mailings that come to you from vendors. Take the opportunity while at conferences to visit with exhibitors. Check out vendors who are endorsed by an association in which you belong.
