Survey tracks shifts in homeowners' home improvement concerns
Surveys taken nine years apart indicate that homeowners remain interested in adding value to their homes when remodeling, even after their homes' prices suffered during the Great Recession. "The rating for importance of information on the 'impact on my home's value' actually went up marginally from before the recession to today," said Fred Miller, president of Consumer Specialists, a Germantown, Tennessee-based research firm and a former leader of the Home Improvement Research Institute.
